4-14-11 Law of Attraction

Money and the Law of Attraction has me captivated.  Negative emotion is actually your inner guidance system warning you that you are attracting that which you do not want.  Instead, identify that you are feeling negative, and that you know what it is you don't want.  Then, start thinking about what it is you do want.  To get into it deeper, think of why you want it.  This will change the energy frequency emanating from yourself and thus will change that which is being attracted to you.  Like attracts like.  This can be said of all things, including money.  So changing what it is you are saying to yourself can cause you to feel differently.  This is the key.  And so I had the strangest, most exhilarating experience today.  One positive thing I had been saying to myself for the past two days was "I am channeling love..."  This felt so right when I would say it.  Other things I was saying didn't always resonate and so I would  come back to this and it felt so right.  I felt like I was vibrating and felt spiritually exhilarated.  Things were opening up for me.  An epiphany, if you will.  And so I'm on this high and I stop at the gas station.  I'm pumping gas and feeling light as a feather, happy as a lark, totally caught up in my feeling of being alive and one with the moment.  I  was saying under my breath, "I am channeling love.." and "money is flowing toward me and through me..,." both of which would just take me higher into my euphoria.  Then  a woman walks past me, she was pumping gas at the next station.  I think "she looks fabulous in that suit.  She is going to accomplish all that she wanted to accomplish today."  And then I am certain.  That thought did not come from me.  I was channeling love and I was compelled to tell her that she was going to accomplish all that she hoped to accomplish that day.  I was paralyzed, frozen with trepidation.  How could I walk up to that lady and tell her that?  I backed up my car, just so I could be in her line of sight. I was hoping she would look at me.  Then she got in her car and I sat that, across from her paralyzed, unable to move, hoping she would look up at me.  I didn't know what to do.  I kept thinking that I should go up to her car window and knock....but how weird would that be?  So I just sat there.  Minutes ticked away.  I felt a surge and knew I should act on it but had never done that before and didn't know what to do.  Finally, she drove away without looking at me and I felt like I blew it.  And I did.  But I forgive myself.  Next time I won't let the opportunity pass.  "I am channeling love...I am courageous..."

4-5-11 Resistance!

So, I decide to turn my learning attention to money.  In Rich Dad, Poor Dad,  there was an idea that was new to me that was really rather thrilling.  I'm paraphrasing the idea here but it went: the poor blow their money, the middle class use their money to acquire more liabilities, and the rich use their money to make more money.  This rang true to me.  I would consider myself middle class, as would I the majority of people I spend time with and this idea was true.  Friends get an income boost and look for a way to spend it...a bigger house, a new car, etc.  Rich Dad, Poor Dad  would suggest you invest the money in something that would give you a passive income and then use this income to buy what you need so you don't lose your original capital.  So the idea came to me that I really wanted to take the little money I had saved and instead of putting it toward a minivan (which is what I was planning on doing) I wanted to use that money to make money that I could put toward the minivan without losing my savings.  It sounds like perfect sense but this idea was novel to me.  I couldn't wait to tell people about this.  I started envisioning a money group where a few of us could come together and talk finances and possible investments for our money.  After all, more heads are better than one.  I call up my friend to talk about this idea and my new interest and WHAM.  She tells me she can't believe she's hearing this from me.  That I'm supposed to be the one who doesn't care about money.  That making money and being rich goes against everything I stand for.  In other words, I got the wind knocked out of my sails and an unspoken declination to my money group.  So I think about all she had to say.  I'm not trying to learn about money because I think I need to be rich to be happy, but money makes the world go 'round and I feel I am ignorant when it comes to financial IQ.  I don't like feeling ignorant.  I have no excuse.  If I identify a weakness in myself, then I want to strengthen it.  So onward I go...

4-4-11 So what's this all about?

Money and all that surrounds it has always been a mystery to me.  How to get it, how to keep it, how to manage it effectively, and how to use it to my advantage has never been knowledge I've been privy to.  In fact, no one I know talks about money!  I love putting energy into growing different parts of myself, whether it be new experiences, or new way of looking at things.  It dawned on me that I know nothing about money matters and have never given much energy to educating myself about it.  Well, I'm 34 years old and it's about time!  I'm starting on a journey, one that I've never taken and I'm not sure were it will lead.  I'm going to arm myself with knowledge, all I can find, and then I'm going to put this knowledge into action.  As I learn about the money matters I will post the things that interest me the most, or the things that surprise me, or the things I want to share with others.  Maybe others who are in my boat can learn a bit along the way.  Let's see where this will take us...
